Canon Dual Pixel Autofocus Cameras List

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DPAF) was introduced back in 2013, with the Canon EOS 70D camera. Since then, DPAF has been a feature on most new camera models released by Canon, from the expensive Canon EOS C300 cinema camera, to the pro-level Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, to Canon’s mirrorless EOS M6, to the consumer Canon EOS Rebel T7i.

Please, keep in mind that the Dual Pixel autofocus currently isn’t supported in the 4K video recording mode.

Cheapest Canon Camera With Dual Pixel AF

As of now, the overall cheapest Canon with dual pixel AF is Canon EOS M100, which is a very compact mirrorless camera without a viewfinder. You can often get it as a kit together with the lens Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM for as low as €250 in Germany at Saturn, MediaMarkt or Amazon.de.

Among digital single-lens reflex cameras, the cheapest Canon DSLR with dual pixel autofocus is Canon EOS Rebel SL2 / Canon EOS 200D / Canon EOS Kiss X9. For example, in Germany you can get it on sale often for as low as €400. Now, when its replacement Canon EOS Rebel SL3 / Canon EOS 250D / Canon EOS Kiss X10 is already there, expect the price to go even lower. When shopping for the EOS Rebel SL2 / 200D / X9 keep in mind that in some countries there are two basis zoom kit lenses available: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III and Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM. The latter is the better as it features an integrated image stabilization (“IS”) and a silent stepper motor (“STM”), bus it also has a slightly higher price tag.

Another option to get a cheapest Canon dual pixel is to get a used one. Especially, the models like Canon EOS 70D and Canon EOS Rebel SL2 / Canon EOS 200D / Canon EOS Kiss X9 were already replaced by newer models and have good chances to be on the secondary market.
